Here are some pictures of our wonderful extended family of customers and their Goldens…
Capone Rockin his kiddie pool. 6-20-2016 Had the best experience with Charity at South Branch Golden's. I got my sweet Capone in March of 2015. He is the most behaved, sweetest pup who gets along with people and other dogs beautifully. Not to mention his stunning good looks with his big bulky head and 80lb frame. He is quite simply GORGEOUS!
Trevor with with the Grandkids.
Karen,
Our new puppy 'Trevor' has fit right in to our home and family. His temperament is just wonderful. He is so good with our one year old grandson. Other than too many kisses (if that's possible) we have not had to be concerned that the puppy plays too rough of even nibbles too hard. He is so much fun and very smart. Our granddaughter is such a little caregiver to 'her' puppy. She really listened to you when you went over all the puppy care instructions and paperwork with us - she makes sure that this puppy is being cared for properly (so you have no need to worry).
Our cocker spaniel is learning to accept him, she occasionally growls at him from one end but her stubby tail is going 'a mile a minute' on the other end. They will get along just fine, especially once she discovered that licking out Trevor's food dish is pretty tasty. She tries to prove that she is the boss dog of the house but that doesn't seem to mean anything to Trevor. He is so mellow and just seems to take life in stride. We introduced him to our older lab mix, Molly, and he instantly rolled to his back and let her check him over. She took to him immediately. She watches out for him like a mother and he has renewed her energy level.
I am very impressed at how well our puppy listens and has understood basic commands right from the time we brought him home. You must spend a lot of quality time preparing your puppies for their new homes. He is really well with the potty training. He learns so quick that I don't think this will be an issue for long.
Trevor is a wonderful addition to our family and we look forward to enjoying him for many years to come.
Thanks again,
Shelly

Hi Karen! We picked up a light golden puppy from you back in June from Karvin's first litter. He's doing great! We love him so much - he's been so much fun and is a good learner. We've attached a few pictures (see below) - we took him down to Atlanta for the Fourth of July, and take him to the park in Chicago often. He's met his "cousins" - our families' other dogs - and they along great! We start a puppy school tonight, and we're sure he's going to be the best of the class :)Thanks again for everything - we truly love Henry and are so glad that we found South Branch online. Feel free to post our comments/picture on your Web site! We'll send you more pictures as Henry grows...which as you know is a daily occurrence! Best, Allison and Dave
Hi Karen, We just wanted to send you some updated pictures of Henry. He is five months old now and just recently finished his first training class. He won an award for being best in the class!! He has developed such a friendly personality and loves having us nearby. As you can tell by the pictures, he is quite the swimmer as well.Have you received any updated pictures of his brothers or sisters? We would love to see how they are doing. Hope all is well! Dave
Hi...Our daughter is a buyer for Marshall Fields and picture frames is part of her area, so when frames for the Fall were purchased she submitted Griffey's picture (see above) as one for display which was accepted. Of course you may use this information and I sent you the original picture along with this e-mail. I see you have some new dogs they look great as do all of your dogs. Can't wait for more pictures of the puppies as they get older. Ken and Lynn
Dear Karen,
Our liitle Gracie is the biggest hit in the neighborhood....everyone is stopping by to make her feel welcome!
She is the sweetest and dearest littlest girl in the area. We knew she would like to be a gardener as your pictures suggested and she has lived up to our expectations, she is trying to gather all of the leaves of the area right into her own little space! She is a love, we have been so blessed, you have made our lives to be filled with such joy....she is indeed our own AMAZING GRACIE!!!! Mike and Maxine
Hi Karen,
We are absolutely in love with little “Lucy”! She has acclimated so easily into our family and home. We are amazed by how smart, sweet and gentle she is. She’s already sitting (for treats, of course!) and is well on her way to being house trained after just a few short days. She’s made our home a very popular destination in the neighborhood! Thanks for all you did to raise such a beautiful pup. She’s doing her mom and dad proud!
P.S. Thought you'd enjoy seeing how loved she is...see the attached picture (below) of Lucy and Kate.~Sara
Hi Karen, I just thought I would send you a few pictures of what we have been up to. Ginger (see below) is so wonderful. We took Jack swimming at our sister's house and as you can see, Ginger followed me right in, I was suprised she was brave enough to come in the water. I think she will be a fish. She is also so good at night when we go to bed it is great that she is potty trained already! I just can't believe it. She is so perfect. I hope you enjoy the pictures. I will send you more as she grows. Thanks again! Erica & Rod

More from Abby's Mom...
Just wanted to share some recent pics with you. She was 28.1# on Saturday, gaining 3/4 of a pound every day. WOW I've never had a happier dog - she loves everything about life every minute of every day. Smart as a whip & naughty as the devil!! We love her so much!! Give Soph's a kiss & thank her for this precious gift!
See pictures of Abby on the Sophie pages.
Dear Karen, Thought you would like to know that our pup--Skippy--is doing great!! He is much larger than the pictures I am now sending. He is even more beautiful and graceful. We love him so much and he is a great blessing to us. He learns fast and trains well and loves to please. The children have bonded with him and our older daughter has been taking him on 2 to 3 walks during this summer break. I too have seriously considered showing him...The Meyer Family
Here's Remington at 8 months...
Hi There, We are enjoying the puppy we bought from you last year...He is very lovey and smart. Other than pulling my rose bushes...out by the roots and his love of jumping up on me, he's been perfectly super. Aaron (16) obedience trained him and got a 1st place at the County Fair. He'll do more next summer. Thank you again. We are enjoying Oakley. Here's a photo for you and he is smiling.

Dear Karen, Just a quick note to let you know Lily is doing just great! She is a beautiful dog and extremely smart! Stacia is currently taking her to obedience classes and plans to work on CD & CDX titles with her...She has a great sense of hunting, retrieving and swimming...I have recommended you to interested people...Thanks for a great dog!
--The Zierler Family
We thought you would like to see Daisy--she's the one in the back, of course. We love her. She's become a very caring member of our family.
Karen,
Thanks again for talking with me about the vaccinations over the phone just now. I really appreciate it. It was nice to hear your voice again. Since I have your email I thought I'd send some pictures of Tajer--that's what we named him. He's 1 1/2 yrs old now. We absolutely love him! He is such a laid back great guy. Whenever we know of anyone who is looking for a puppy, we tell them about you. We couldn't be more pleased. He's our PURPLE #4. Do you remember that? We wondered if we picked out the right puppy that first visit and as we were driving home, we reached under the seat looking for a remote to the CD player and grabbed a purple, #4 golf ball instead!!! Then when we came to pick him up, you had a folder laid out for us. It was purple!!!
We hope you enjoy these pictures. I'll be sending 2 different emails so you get a good look at him.
Thanks again for him, he's wonderful. We also appreciate you sharing the info on worming- that is done on the 4th of the month--guess why we picked that number?

As you can see, I'm a busy puppy. My job is to guard the door and I'm usually sleeping on the job (see above). This is my brother Sam's toy (see below) but he lets me snuggle with it.
I'm starting school next week. Sam's been teaching me stuff. Mom and Dad are proud.

Below a picture of our wonderful customer Dick at Pick Up with his South Branch Puppy, "Bailey." Dick and his family are from Sun Prairie, WI...see more picts of Bailey below. They were taken about one month apart to show how quickly puppies grow!
Dick wrote to us: "...So I wanted you to know you we picked the right breeder and the right dog. He is a challenge at times (as all puppies are I think) but mostly he is awesome. Today we are going visiting again to see my 91 yo mother...she loves Bailey. It cheers her up so much! Thanks for all your help, and if you don't mind, I'll keep you updated on Bailey. Attached are a few photos of the growing boy."

sent via email December 09: "Hi Karen, Blessings of this holiday season to you and your family. We simply love our Daisy and Wrigley. After many training and behavior classes, mostly beneficial for me, Daisy and Wrigley are both certified as Therapy Dogs. As teams, we have volunteered to visit nursing homes, 3 hospitals, and often go to schools for reading programs and libraries. Wrigley and I passed our certification last August and Daisy and I passed in September. Wrigley has made 24 visits and Daisy 3...we're just getting started...she missed while in heat. They are the LOVES of our family...they couldn't be better companions. May God continue to bless you. We are grateful for your gift in Goldens! Attached are a few pics. Enjoy! Blessings to you, Sandy and Chuck Book"
Via email October 2012:
Thanks, Charity...She (Emily) IS gorgeous and gets lots and lots of compliments. We went to Petco last night and she was a hit! She didn't care about the toys-just wanted to be adored by the people and play with the other dogs. Ham.

It has been an amazing year with Maisie. She is such a lover. My 3 daughters, husband and 9 year old golden Teddy are crazy about her. She is so funny. She is very sweet and vocal. She loves to retrieve stuffed animals, ball and toys. She really enjoys going for car rides around town and to the soccer field. Overall, she has been a wonderful addition to our family. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you, Chrissy
Maisie pictured.
Charity, I just wanted to thank you for all of your help and kindness throughout this whole process. Thank you for being so helpful and patient with all of our questions, concerns, and tons of e-mails back and fourth. We are so happy to finally have our SouthBranch Golden girl! Her name is Maggie and she is such a happy and smart puppy! She's definitely curious and playful, but also already so well behaved and so well acclimated to our home just one day in! We are so happy to have her as part of our family and she fits in perfectly! Our experience with SouthBranch has been great and we couldn't be happier. Thanks again for everything to you, Wade, your families, and everyone at SouthBranch!

Karen, I'm not sure if you remember us, but we got a puppy from you almost 2 years ago this fall. "Henry" has been just an incredible dog. He has the most wonderful temperament you could ever ask for and recently received his Delta Dog certification. He's been visiting many of the hospitals in the Madison area with his handler, Artie Berning, who just happens to be my mother-in-law. She's had many, many people approach her about who his breeder was, where you're located, etc...Thank you again for Henry. We couldn't be happier.
Holly, Here is a pictures of Henry in his Delta Dog "uniform". He's been very busy lately, making regular visits to Meriter and University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics here in Madison. Soon, he will be starting some additional training soon so he can work in their Physical Therapy Department. So many people have commented on his calm nature and they can't believe that he's only 2 years old. We couldn't be happier with him and it's so heart-warming to see the response that he gets from the patients he visits. Their eyes just light up!! It's really a testament to how much the love of an animal can assist in the healing process. Many blessings to you and your family, John, Teresa, Caleb, Ethan and Henry (woof!!) Poynette, Wisconsin
Phoenix Update 9-20-05
Hi Holly,
...we are just proud of her and think she is absolutely beautiful. Her coat and color are gorgeous. We adore her. This picture is her waiting for the chipmunks in our yard.
Hi Holly,
We thought it was about time to give you an update on Foster. He will be 3 years old in a couple of days. He is happy and healthy.
We have had some great dogs in our lives before, but Foster is exceptional. He is always ready to go out for a walk or to play and get some exercise. He is a very good retriever and frisbee catcher. He gets along with other animals and loves everyone he comes in contact with.
Thanks Southbranch,
The Deterts
Hi South Branch Goldens,
I'm sorry it's taken me forever to send you an update on our baby girl Star. She's one of Olive and Travis's daughters born 12/28/10. I've attached a recap of photos from her first year with us. The last two were just taken today so you can see what a beautiful girl she's grown up to be. (She gets compliments on her attractiveness everywhere we go!) She just had her annual check-up with her vet and she got an A+ for health. She's been a wonderful addition to our family. Unfortunately, our older golden, Buddy, (in the words of my youngest son) went on to doggie heaven in November and Star has been a great comfort to us all. She has a best friend next door (a 3 year old golden) that she plays with everyday so that has helped her with the loss of her big brother. Star has quite the personality and lives up to her name by acting like she is the most important person in the family 🙂 On the other hand, she is so gentle and a wonderful companion to my son with disabilities. They have become great pals. She makes me laugh everyday with her antics - it's this joy that she brings into our lives that make her such a blessing!
May you all have a blessed and joyful year in 2012!
Warmly,
The McClure Family

Below is an update from our friends Nancy and Quincy...Words cannot express our gratitude for the wonderful blessing they are to so many lives...
I know you enjoy hearing about what Quincy is up to....so thought I'd take a second to fire off some of the latest! The dog is a CELEBRITY, and honestly, if he gets any more PR, Hollywood will be calling!!!! We're so active in Therapy Dog work now, that he's been on TV, and in the newspapers several times! EVERYWHERE we go, people immediately fall in love with him!!!!
I'm attaching a photo from last week's paper, where Q is at a luncheon with me. I was invited to do a presentation on Therapy Dogs, and spoke to 225 people!!! It generated a lot of interest, and I've had several phone calls from people wanting to get THEIR dog certified! Our local TDI Chapter is growing!
Quincy and I have been at it for a year now, and nothing but good things have been happening.
Am also attaching a flyer that the local library has put out about the summer reading program Quincy is doing. Is this the cutest thing you've ever seen?
Quincy just LOVES kids, and I tell everyone, I have the only dog in the world that I have to get children for!!!!!
And I can't help myself, but had to attach some letters Quincy got from his first grade class. We went to the elementary school every Tuesday during the school year, and the kids would read to him. At the end of the school year, the teacher asked the kids to write a letter to someone who helped them during the semester, and Quincy got SIX letters! They are more precious to me than any expensive Hallmark card!!!!

How I love this dog! He never ceases to get compliments, and in the two years I've had him, and I've never heard a growl out of him. Tail wags constantly. People compliment ME on the training, but I tell everyone, I can't take any credit. The dog is just SMART, and "gets it." What a huge, huge, HUGE blessing in my life!!!!
I've had him in Agility Classes since Spring, and he just LOVES it!!!! He hangs on my every command, and is like a bullet on the course! Most definitely the class valedictorian! I'm thinking of putting him in a novice competition this Fall. I don't want to get into Agility seriously, but it's fun for Q (and me!) and keeps us both out of trouble!
Anyway, love you, and thank for sharing in my JOY over Quincy. He's the most wonderful dog I've ever had, and can't imagine life without him!!!!
Enjoy the attachments....I'll keep in touch.
Hugs,
Nancy
Here is an article from our friend Nancy and her wonderful South Branch Golden, Quincy. Nancy and Quincy have been a true blessing, touching so many lives, warming so many hearts. There's something very compelling about Quincy, the Golden Retriever. Not only is he an exceptionally beautiful dog, but he also exudes a certain charm; a glowing karma that naturally draws people to him. And lately he's been putting these attributes to good use, listening to children read through his "Tail Waggin Tutor" program or bringing a little solace to homeless families at Frederick Place. He does it all with an easy aplomb, and makes friends and fans where ever he travels. People just can't seem to get enough of this big dog with his gentle ways and friendly demeanor.
Quincy is a certified and titled therapy dog. His companion, Nancy Diepenbrock, trained him just for that purpose. Nancy's wish to become the handler of a therapy dog came after meeting one first hand while working her job as a critical care nurse in a busy Dallas, Texas hospital. "Here came this dog into my unit and I just melted," she said. "That dog brought so much joy into the hospital setting I decided right there I wanted to become involved and train a therapy dog. I wanted to be able to bring that kind of joy to others."
Nancy has always been an animal lover. In fact, Quincy is the fifth Golden Retriever she has had in her life. Then a couple of years ago, circumstances landed her in Eagle River after she retired from a 31-year career in nursing. That's when she got Quincy. "I did research on what kinds of personality's therapy dogs must have," she said. "Then I found a Golden Retriever breeder. I told her what I was looking for and she actually showed me two puppies she thought would fit the bill and she was right on with Quincy."
From the moment Nancy got Quincy, she started grooming him to become a therapy dog. She took him to grocery store parking lots where noisy carts clattered passed; she exposed him to many children; enrolled him in a puppy kindergarten class and introduced him to as many unusual circumstances as she could. When he became a little older she took him through a basic obedience class and then an agility class, both of which he passed with flying colors. Then she decided Quincy might enjoy a Scent Games 101 course. "He was really a dunce in this class," Nancy laughed. "He just couldn't get the purpose of it."
But Quincy got the purpose of being a therapy dog. Therapy Dogs International (TDI) requires that a canine be at least one year of age when they test to become a certified therapy dog, which is a different program than what service dogs train for. Therapy dogs are not trained to open doors, pick up objects or lead the blind. A therapy dog's main purpose is to provide a calm and loving presence to people in nursing homes, schools, hospitals and wherever they are needed.
Quincy had to pass 15 tests to become certified. Some of the challenges of these tests included accepting a friendly stranger; being groomed by a stranger; coming when called; walking through a crowd and staying calm when presented with a noisy group of children. These tests proved to be a piece of cake for this big, furry boy. "I think he was born to be a therapy dog," said Nancy. "He didn't have any trouble at all passing his tests."
Once Quincy was certified, Nancy decided to start a therapy dog group in the Northwoods. "The closest chapter was in Mosinee," she said. "But I wanted one up here so people could join and not have to drive quite as far. We're Chapter 250 with Therapy Dog's International."
At first business was slow, but Nancy expected that. However, once she started giving presentations on just what Quincy could provide, it became quickly obvious the dog was going to have quite a career. "Oh we're getting booked pretty steadily," said Nancy. "Before I was looking for places to take Quincy and now I'm looking for more people and their dogs to join the therapy program."
Quincy has quite a beat. He's a regular at Pelican Elementary School, where he sits quietly while children read to him. His Tail Waggin' Tutors program provides an unconditional ear to children who are struggling with reading. He also just recently got booked on a regular basis at the Rhinelander District Library where youngsters can come in for 10 minute reading shifts while Quincy sits on his own pillow and listens. "My son really didn't like reading all that much before he met Quincy," said one parent. "Now he can't wait to read. It's truly amazing the difference this dog has made."
Watching the children read to this golden beauty is extraordinary. There is no sense of self consciousness as they greet the friendly retriever confidently and then begin to read to their new friend. Quincy listens patiently and only raises his head when they stop. Sometimes a little hand will reach out and touch the dog gently and Quincy shifts his big brown eyes in encouragement.
Nancy sits by quietly, sometimes helping the children get through a tough word. But it's Quincy the children gravitate toward. People also gravitated toward this comforting canine when Nancy was a Salvation Army bell ringer this past Christmas. "People were waiting in line to put money into the bucket," she laughed. "Some people even went into the store and bought him treats!"
Nancy has taken her pooch to Nicolet College during final exam time so staff and students can get a little relief from their studies and Quincy may also soon become a regular at Howard Young Medical Center, the Eagle River Hospital and Ministry Saint Mary's Hospital too. He visits homeless shelters, nursing homes like the Milestone Senior Center and he's expanding his "Tail Waggin' Tutor" program by becoming a regular not only at Pelican School, but also at the Rhinelander District Library. "He's really a favorite and we're getting more and more calls," said Nancy. "We really would like more members to join our chapter."
For now though, Nancy is enjoying filling her retirement days chauffeuring Quincy around to his many "jobs" so he can interact with his fan base. The pair brings smiles, and sometimes even tears to the eye, when they walk through the door. "You know a dog doesn't care about your reading ability, your infirmaries or whatever other problem you might have," said Nancy. "Quincy loves people and when he walks through a door everyone just lights up. Sometimes a little doggie love is all it takes to make the world a better place."
Editor's note: To invite Quincy to an event, email Nancy Diepenbrock at petsx5@gmail.com, or call (715) 479-2498. To learn more about Therapy Dogs International, call (973) 252-9800, or email tdi@gti.net.

Quincy & Nancy Christmas 2011
We thank you!
Thank you for introducing a new blood line to the US....we did a lot of research looking at bloodlines before choosing South Branch....we had just lost our 5 yr old golden to lymphoma and couldn't go thru that again...our vet said on U of WI Vet School's chemo day, the waiting room is filled with goldens. Too much inbreeding
So again thank you for your breeding care.
Therapy Dog Connor (below)
Ron & Connor arrive at the LaX Public Library. Today they will take part in Read to Rover sponsored by the Humane Society.
Ron is an Elementary Principal at two schools. Connor reads with kids several days a week and then wonders off leash thru the schools
visiting classrooms and the media centers. He is a very well behaved boy. Everyone comments that Connor has such a beautiful head.
Connor is 5 yrs old his father Karvin, mother Hannah (I believe).
Received July 2012: We are smitten with our little Golden Retriever pup. After ten days in our lives, we know her to be lively, bold and full of spirit. We also have realized that we should have gotten to know her a little better before naming her.
We have now decided to call her Piper ... a name that seems to express the sheer joy of her adventuresome and spunky nature .
We should also note that on our way to pick our pup up from the breeder, we passed the Experimental Aircraft Association Convention in Oshkosh. Little did we know that it would be a prophetic experience and that we would end up with our very own sassy piper cub like the ones we saw in the air that day.

Hi Charity,
I thought that this would be a good picture for your website. It was at Christmas time out at our lake place. The picture turned out so good that I thought I would have a Canvas made out of this picture. We love Tate to death and he is sooooo smart. He is still a little pistol but we wouldnt have it any other way. He has a great personality and is also a cuddler. He was definitely the one that we were meant to have. He is at Daycare today so that he can get a little worn out. Think of you guys often. I hope things are great with all of you.
Sincerely,
Teri
Karen, You had asked me to send some pix of our puppy, Ajax (pictured below)...(born 1/24/07)...he's super cute and has a great personality and sits and shakes well, too. We're working on "come" & "stay" now. Much harder. We'll likely need puppy school to assist with that one! he's been a wonderful addition to the house. My kids LOVE him. He's a mild-mannered guy, except around other dogs--he's a social animal. He LOVES his dog pals! Thanks! We may have to get another one! Gwen
Good Morning Karen,
Here's some new pictues of Lilly that we took yesterday...As you can see, she's getting to be a big girl...We took Lilly to the farmer's market yesterday and it was her first trip. But we only got to a few booths as everyone that passed us had to stop and pet her and ask us what kind of breed she was and wanted to know where we got her. She seems to cause quite a stir here. But we like to take her with us as it's good for her socialization skills and we love to show her off...Best regards, Jan
From David N. on 7-14-2016 Hi South Branch folks!
Peter and I just wanted to let you know that Harriet born 7/13/11 is happy and healthy! Time has gone so fast and we are so happy to have picked you as our breeders. Harriet is sweet, spunky and is madly in love with her almost 6 year old Goldenddoodle brother Maxwell. I’ll attach a couple of recent photos. We had her hair cut short for the summer and pool time. She is such a licker and lovebug it’s hard to believe she is already 5 years old.
Ivy loves the water. 9-17-2016 Hello Charity and Brandon!
I wanted to share some pictures with you on Ivy! She has grown SO much, my parents call her a moose! Haha, she is doing amazing though. She sleeps with me at night and goes on lots of walks through town. She is also a natural swimmer and loves the water! She is great with my nieces and nephews and rides in the car perfectly, sits in the backseat and looks out the window! She has exceeded my expectations. Couldn't ask for a more perfect, loving dog. So thank you again so much for your South Branch Golden!
Lilly 8-27-2016 Dear Charity - wanted to let you know that Lilly is now a registered therapy dog. Wasn't sure how we would do on this but last week visited a nursing home with some people in rough shape. There was a man significantly deformed by arthritic issues. He just was sitting there - despondent. Lilly walked over, sat down and started to lick his hands. He looked a little surprised but reached out to her to touch her. He petted her head a few minutes until she moved closer to give him a kiss. He dropped his head; she licked him. A smile came to his face - wow, she made a difference.
Thank you for giving me the greatest friend I have ever had.

Hi Charity!
We are over the moon in love with our Buzzy boy❤️ He is a mild mannered lovable pup. He recently earned his CGC! We are awaiting the papers and proof of his amazing training. Then he is off to visit people who need a little fur therapy. His next great adventure is to move to a new house. He won't get his own room, but hopefully a bigger yard😉 From day one he has been a joy. He has such a peaceful spirit. We love him to infinity and beyond 🚀
Thank you, blessings, and many wet nosed kisses!
