Dog Fancy April 2010 Puppy Issue South Branch Golden

We love to get emails like this...

Hi Karen:
Hope all is well with you & your family. Both our dogs are presently enrolled in a Crisis Response Unit class. When they complete the course which takes about a little over a year they will be certified by Red Cross, FEMA, & Homeland Security to respond anywhere in the country when needed. At our class last weekend we had to pose with our dog for our id photo. Attached is Louise with Dawn, We think of you everyday for giving us such a wonderful friend & being able to share her with so many people. You will never know how much joy she brings into the patients lives that we visit with her. Thanks again, & by the way we were in Door County in spring & we visited Kopsels market stand & it turns out her daughter got a golden from you. Louise & her got to play for a while & it was almost like looking at twins. It is a small world, Keep in touch....Love, Ed & Dawn

Hi Karen:

Here are some pictures of our puppy Charlie with our three year old Floyd. Charlie has been a wonderful addition to our family and he is well worth the sleepless nights!! The little guy has a wonderful personality, smart and confident. He looks up to Floyd and tries to do whatever Floyd does - they are constantly together. Thank you very much and thank you also for your nutrition advice. In addition to getting good food for the pup we changed Floyd's food (the first ingredient in his "regular" food was corn!!)and he has slimmed down and has lots of energy. John

Holly, I have to start of by apologizing because I should have been sending you updates on Lord Chester (from Sophie & Otto's last litter). He is well and I think the last time you might have heard from me, us, Mr. Chester had an injury on his paw, well, he has recovered from that injury very well and as you can see has really grown up.  I MEAN REALLY GROWN UP!!!!  He loves to make room on the bed for himself, even though he has his crate next to our bed that he goes into at the start of every night, but somehow manages to get on the bed, in the middle of the night, that we sleep on....hmmmmm.  Anytime Don and I are getting ready to leave for work in the morning and he, Chester, hears the keys jingle, he is at the garage door ready for a car ride (see next two pictures below).  We love Chester and can not thank you enough for the opportunity for us to have met you and your "extended" family. And a poem (see below) from Daisy, from Sophie's first litter in 2005 with Otto, who is now FOUR already! She's a great writer and still soooo gorgeous!! See her as a puppy and again at 3 1/2 months and in her "teenage years" here. And at about 3 1/2 years from the summer of 2008, below.
Daisy with Ball 2008

Dear Momma Sophie,

Hi there momma, it's your little girl Daisy

I’ve been thinking about you lots and missing you like crazy

Mom said I could write and tell you what’s up

That I’m a big girl now and not a whiney little pup

I love my new home and most all that’s attached

But can’t seem to get along with those 2 crazy cats!

I know… that I told you I would try to get along

But they hiss and they tease me and it's just plain wrong

I bring them my ball and even my bone

Each time they run away screaming leave me alone

I usually get mad then and chase them under the bed

But mom cuts me off… then shakes her head

Daisy she tells me, they don’t want to play

They are tired from running and just want to lay

So… I grab my ball and bring it to my momma

Giving her that look that says “do you wanna”

She smiles at me and opens the door

I follow out quickly and let out my “happy roar”

Finally, some fun with a ball and a stick

I move with such grace and oh…I’m so quick!

Thanks momma Sophie for having me and my brothers

You’d be proud of us now as we are bringing joy to others!!!!

I miss you and love you with all my heart

Daisy girl

Hello,Just was visiting your web-site, its actually one of my favorite things to do!!  I saw that you will have puppies available in early spring.  I'm sure trying to talk my husband into having a third Golden!! He surprised me two years ago, with one of your puppies. I've attached a photo of Jesse Belle. She is just the sweetest, funniest dog I have ever met. We just love her!! She loves our older Golden 'Harley Girl'. The two of them have become great friends!! Have a Golden day!!! Kind regards, Joy

Hello Karen,
Blessings to you and all the "Goldens" of South Branch.
Daisy and Wrigley are such wonderful little companions. We just love them! Their temperment is so mellow and loving and they are so smart. Though, we sometimes call the "the toxic duo"...they definitely speak the same language! They both passed the AKC, CGC testing in October and also passed the TDI exam...
Hope all is well in you life. The pups on your website are just lovie...creamie...yummy!  The one looking over the shoulder of the man is my favorite. Is it a male or female?...just wondering...
Thanks again for your kindness. Hope to hear from you. Grateful, Sandy

Karen: We have been so busy that I have not had time to drop you a line.  Riley is just great. She is positively the best dog we ever had!  A neighbor will be calling you in regards to a pup.  He noticed Riley when we were walking and just feel in love with her, as we did the first time we saw the little stinker.  Well, she is a wonderful dog and I am sure (our neighbor) will be pleased. Take Care: Frank

Hi Karen,
I wanted to send you a few pics and update you on Mori and Cash.  I had no reason to worry - Cash accepted Mori as his little brother from the day we brought him home!!!  They play so well together - wrestling and chasing each other.  It helps that Mori is quite the independent little guy - he doesn't need too much attention from Mom and Dad as long as he knows where his big brother is.
Attached are pictures of both Morrison and Cash - I thought you may like to see what a handsome big boy Cash has become.  I will keep you updated with pictures as Mori gets bigger.
Thanks again for the wonderful job that South Branch does - I hope that you and your family will continue breeding for years and years! Christina

Hello Karen,
I found your Website, and WOW is it ever good!  I am sending a picture (taken last week Tuesday when the sun was out!) of Lady with our two little Shih Tzu's.  They were soaking up the rays by the back door.  We purchased Lady from you in January, 1997.  She was born on Dec. 20, 1996.  Her mother is listed on our registration papers as "Lucy in the Sky w/Diamonds", and her father was "Treasure Code Master Lines".    Anyhow, I saw her Mom, Lucky, on your Website with her story.  Brought tears to my eyes.
We are seriously considering gettting another Golden Retriever, and we love the real light creme color...I thought you would like to see a picture of one of your past puppies in her "old age".  She is the most wonderful dog, and that's why I contacted you first.  Will stay in touch.  I put your website in my favorites, so I can read all of it, a little at a time.  Thank you for calling me back.   Warmest regards, Jeanne

Our pups are raised in a clean, dry, healthy environment, and come well socialized. They learn a few weeks before pick up (which is at 7 weeks) to go potty outdoors and are not accustomed to eliminating in the home on wet, unsanitary newpaper or other semi-absorbent, smelly materials. As a result, they will be partially potty trained at time of pickup. Great news! South Branch is situated on 200 acres, five of which are fenced as an exercise area for our Goldens.
We want to sincerely thank our South Branch families for their patronage and wish them the best with their new additions.
