Summer 2009 Puppy picture taken late Fall 2009 of Maddy from Madison:)
Hi Holly and South Branch Golden friends! We just wanted to update you on how well Maddy is doing here in Madison. She's proving to be...no surprise...a wonderful little girl. She's a champion as far as housetraining has gone (no accidents in 6+ weeks?), sits, lies down, will drop it, learned "go upstairs," "come" and is working hard on "stay" and "wait." She loves belly rubs, playing with other dogs, chewing sticks, chasing squirrels, jumping in piles of leaves, being chased, tug-of-war, little kids, strangers who say "what a cute puuuuuupy," liver snacks, mealtime, walking around town, and thumping her tail madly when we come home. She's a favorite at the vet's office and a number of local stores, has such an even temper, and is generally a joy to live with! She graduated puppy school...and is keeping the puppy tooth fairy busy. And about two weeks ago, we took her on her first hike, to Devil's Lake (see pict below). SHe handled the ups and downs on the rocks like a champion. Today she went to a dog park for the first time, where we got to (finally) use the "chuck it" to throw her tennis ball a really really long way (she's only got a 50% retrieval rate, though, since other pups are sometimes more interesting than bringing the ball all the way back). So many of the complements she receives reflect her breeding and her early socialization with the South Branch family, so for all of those intangibles, thank you! She is loved!!! Hope you are all doing well, Kelly, Dave and Maddy

From a South Branch Customer December 2009:
"Seasons Greetings from Colorado. John and I are enjoying our second Christmas with our beautiful golden, OP. OP, our puppy, was picked up in May of 2008. He was the last to be picked up out of his litter...OP went camping for a couple of days in Door County before having his first - and second - plane rides. He has grown to be a beautiful and stately golden retriever. Everyone that sees him compliments his great looks! We are thinking about getting him a playmate some time next year...According to the website, looks like you have more puppies on the way. If they are as fun-loving as OP, their owners will be very happy!"
